Milan-forward Ibrahimovic raised the issue on Twitter, and hinted towards a possible legal action. Check out his tweet: Amidst the controversy, now EA has stepped in and has clarified that it has absolutely nothing to do with it. It stated that Ibrahimović’s issue has nothing to do with the game or EA Sports. The sports company also said that the situation is simply trying to drag FIFA 21 into a dispute between separate third parties. It also clarified that it owns the contractual rights to use the likenesses of all the players currently in the game since it has attained licenses directly from leagues, teams, and players. The official statement read, “We are aware of discussions around licensing of players in EA Sports FIFA. The current situation being played out on social media is an attempt to draw FIFA 21 into a dispute between a number of 3rd parties and has little to do with EA Sports. To be very clear, we have contractual rights to include the likeness of all players currently in our game. As already stated, we acquire these licenses directly from leagues, teams, and individual players. In addition, we work with FIFPro to ensure we can include as many players as we can to create the most authentic game. In these instances, our rights to player likenesses are granted through our club agreement with AC Milan and our long-standing exclusive partnership with the Premier League, which includes all players for Tottenham Hotspur.” Check Out: Call of Duty Mobile Season 12 Release & Updates Not only this, even though FIFA 21 has received solid reviews, it is still under the wrong light owing to heavy criticism received from its own player base.
