Four Ways to Fix Google Assistant
Reboot
Sometimes common issues with smartphones or any electronic devices can be fixed by a simple reboot. If you see the error message “The Google Assistant isn’t available on this device” displaying on your screen all of a sudden when you try to use the app, try rebooting the device. Here are the steps to reboot a smartphone or tablet:
Hold the power button on the side of the phone for a couple of secondsClick on the Restart option
The device will turn off and on back again on its own thereby completing the reboot processOnce it restarts, the Google Assistant should work without any error message

Re-enable the Google app
If the error message still comes up even after rebooting, reenabling the Google app might help. If the Google app or certain Google services are disabled on your device, the Google Assistant app may malfunction. Enable the Google app if it is disabled by any chance. In case, the app is enabled and working fine but you are getting the Google Assistant unavailable error message, you need to disable and re-enable the app manually. Follow the steps below to do the same:
Open Settings on your phoneClick on Apps & notifications
Click on SEE ALL … APPS
Find the Google app on the screen and click on it
If the app is disabled, get it back to work by clicking on ENABLE
If the Google app is enabled already, click on the DISABLE button to disable the app and re-enable it by clicking on the ENABLE option again
Google Assistant should function now
Clear Cache
Clearing cache is another efficient way to clear the error and get the app running smoothly. Here is how to clear the Google app cache on your smartphone:
Open Settings on your phoneClick on Apps & notifications
Click on SEE ALL … APPS
Find the Google app on the screen and click on itClick on Storage and cache
Click on the CLEAR CACHE option
Once you do it, check whether the Google Assistant is working or not
Update Google app
