Do you also want to know the answer to this question? Don’t worry. We’re here to help you. Your phone may have come out of the production line much later after the model was released. While every manufacturer is different, there are a few common areas you can look at to find out how old your phone is.
How to check how old is my phone?
Tip 1. Check the box Some manufacturers such as Motorola, OnePlus, etc., include the manufacturing date on the box. Simply turn it over and look for the ‘date’ on the box. Tip 2. In the Settings Some manufacturers include the date in the settings. While it may appear at different places in the settings, one commonplace to find the manufacturer date is under ‘About Phone’. Again, while some companies may mark the manufacturing date others may use a serial code. For example, Apple puts the manufacturing details into their serial numbers. 0 means 2020, 1 means 2021, the fourth and fifth digits refer to the manufacturing week of the year. Tip 3. Use an app Look for a phone info app in Google Play and download it. Typically, these apps can collect information from serial numbers, IMEI codes, etc. While it may not always work for finding out how old your phone is, it is still worth trying. Tip 4. Manufacturing codes If the above methods are unsuccessful checking the manufacturing codes may be your last resort. However, these codes may not just be OEM specific but also model specific. So, it can be quite tricky to use manufacturing codes to know ‘how old is my phone’. Some phones may respond after you type “#197328640#” or “##197328640##” into the dialer. It will then open a service menu. Go to Hardware Versions> Read manufacturing date. If this does not work, you can try typing “*#0000#” into the dialer. Tip 5. Google Yes. Just like you turn to Google for help every time you need something, it can help you find out how old your phone is as well. All you need to do is Google your serial number or the model to see if Google can provide you with the details that you need. If this does not work, you may at least get an idea of how your new phone maybe by looking at its release date. That said, your phone’s exact manufacturing date can be either before or after its release date. How old is my phone? Hopefully, the above-mentioned tips will help you find the answer.
