How to Disable the Chat Feature in Your Gmail Inbox
The steps in this article were performed in Google Chrome. This is going to turn off the chat feature that is accessible below your folders/labels at the left side of the window. You can always re-enable chat later if you decide that you want to keep it there. Step 1: Sign into your Gmail account at https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox.
