The app has been developed by Kolkata-based firm IndusNet Technologies. New Town is located on the North Eastern fringes in Kolkata. What The App Offers? The HIDCO App for seamless navigation will be released in phases, starting September. Set to be an interactive solution for New Town residents. it will also allow registered users to mark famous landmarks and spots in New Town. The app will also help locate nearest police stations and other public utility services. IndusNet CEO and founder Abhishek Rungta says, “The idea is to have mobile app to spread awareness among the residents of New Town and outsiders about the famous places of New Town, location of those places, how to reach there, information about the events happening at places like Eco Park, Rabindrathirtha, Najrultirtha…” With this app, the makers hope that even before New Town is officially termed a smart city, the app will help residents and visitors navigate conveniently across the city. New Features To Roll Out This Month Over the coming three months, the app for seamless navigation will see more new features being launched such as audio tours for places of interest. The app will run on Windows, Android and iOS platforms. Users can even order books from the digital library and view bus schedules, besides finding addresses and new locations.
