From Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8 to Xbox services to the next version of Office to Microsoft tablets, TVs, and phones and now the latest logo- the era seems to be evolving for Microsoft, which is venturing into lot of innovative devices this year. Revamping its logo seems to be an initiative by Microsoft, which is implying that the company is changing according to the technologically advanced world and needs of people alike. The new squared-off Windows logo sits to the right of the company’s name. Microsoft has taken aback its bold-italic look to give way for a cleaner, upright font. Logotype is made using Segoe font, which Microsoft has used in all of its products. The symbol’s squares of color such as red, green, blue, and yellow conveys the firm’s assorted collection of products, as posted in company’s blog post. Jeff Hansen, General Manager, Brand Strategy, Microsoft wrote, “Starting today, you’ll see the new Microsoft logo being used prominently.” He also added, “Fully implementing a change like this takes time, so there may be other instances where you will see the old logo being used for some time.” The new logo is already up on Microsoft’s website and will be rolling out to the company’s retail stores across the country. Hansen further wrote, “It will sign off all of our television ads globally. And it will support our products across various forms of marketing. We’re excited about the new logo, but more importantly about this new era in which we’re re-imagining how our products can help people and businesses throughout the world realize their full potential.”
