Presently, the number of group members that can be added to a single WhatsApp group is 256. WhatsApp is now doubling this number which means now 512 members could be added to the groups. They have started introducing this gradually to the users and soon it is expected to reach the entire user base across Android and iOS. This happens to be one of the most awaited additions in WhatsApp. There are a lot of users who want to add a large number of people in the groups, however, until now only 256 memes could be added. 512 is a definite welcome change, however, it is still way less than what Telegram is offering. In the groups in Telegram, almost 20000 members can be added. There are other features too which WhatsApp is about to introduce. Very soon, the users will be able to send files which are up to 2GB in size. These files will be end-to-end encrypted. This is a huge jump in the size of the file from 100 MB. According to WhatsApp, it will be better if WiFi is used for file transfer. There will also be an indicator to check the progress of transfer of the file. All of these features have been tested in the WhatsApp Beta. Similar to how Instagram works, WhatsApp now has an option to react to a particular message in the chat. Currently, only 6 emoji options are available but WhatsApp is going to add more emojis to the list soon. Another feature that WhatsApp has added is the Communities. With this feature admins of different groups can manage all their groups in one place. All of these features shall be soon available to the users. Conclusion – Whatsapp remains one of the most popular messaging features and the company leaves no stone unturned to ensure that it provides the best user experience to its customer base.
