Now, the company is rolling out another update that will let you use any emoji to react to messages. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced this recent update through a Facebook post. In the post, he mentioned that they are rolling out the ability to use any emoji of your choice to react to messages on WhatsApp. He also listed some of his favourite emojis in the post. Previously, there were only six emojis that were available for reacting on WhatsApp messages. These emojis were heart, thumbs up, tears of joy, joined hands, crying face, and mouth open.
How to react on WhatsApp messages?
Once the update will be rolled out, WhatsApp will display a plus symbol next to the list of emoji reactions that are already there. By long pressing on the ‘+’ symbol, you can react with your favourite emoji on messages. The expanded emoji reaction feature was spotted in the beta versions of WhatsApp including on both Android and iOS. As of now, there is no confirmation of when WhatsApp will roll out this new update. However, when it does, we will inform you.
